Hi everyone, will take me a while to sort out your names, and to absorb this site, for me a lot to get into and how to go about it,coz I am dum on this sort of thing. So hope this is going out to you all.
Breeze's story began in 2000,at 17wks she contracted Tetanus,I feel she lost a tooth and picked up something from contaminated soil!!My beautifull shepard puppy got sick very sick within days. She could not open her mouth and she took on the look of a pig with a positive grin her ears were stuck together like super glue.(there is so much info in between all these events but would take pages to type out so this is just the basics).Took her to local vet,who was horrified and said they had no idea?????? Then took her up the motorway to a bigger veternary surgery, all the way there she cried,it was awfull.she was dying in the back of my car.She was like a cardboard cut out stiff as a board. When I arrived at this vets place way out in the dark coz it was late at night! The vet I was supposed to see was out on an emergency call,my puppy was supposed to be my emergency but hey!So instead I saw the TOP GUY!! he took one look at my pup and said with sheer exctitment,I think she has TETANUS,second dog in 22yrs,(first one I found out later had died). He got out books from his shelf and began to look through,by then I was ready to say to just put her to sleep she was suffering so much.I need to keep her in,was his words I can save this pup.So began Breeze's recovery, she had 16 injections a day for 2wks,24hr care from this surgery,to this day I cannot thank them enough.I went everyday to see her.She went to skin and bone and looked terrible, but her strength and will to live was incredible. After 14 days of intensive care the vet phoned and said I could take her home.Well it was so funny she was like a robot dog, still so stiff, she'd fall over and I would pick her up,her food was taken down to mussh! and sometimes I would have to spoon feed her as she was so weak she could not eat normally.I slept with this pup for weeks just so I could hear her breath and be there for her.
Feel I am again running out of space here,so chapter 2 tomorrow guys.Would love to know if anyone else has dogs out there thats gone through the same thing?? Kristina

how scary is that !!

To Pet Dog Forum, and so glad your pup's case turned out to be a historical statistic of the happy kind.
